Absolutely terrific performance Saturday evening in Madison! Your piano was energetic in working the familiar tunes of Dave and the Quartet, the banter between you and Bobby was out of this world and just spectacular; along with a fantastic version of "A-Train" A most enjoyable treat for everyone and it looked like you all had fun as well! Many thanks - best to you and your Dad and family from everyone in Madison. We hope to follow your work now too - best this fall in the UK! Regards, Chip Adams
My family just got home from an incredible evening seeing you play here in CT. I have to thank you, as my 9-year-old twins had previously believed that they didn't like jazz, but the concert tonight has completely changed their tune! We all loved the show and I'm so excited to expose the kids to more jazz now that you have whetted their appetite!
Hello Darius, Will we be seeing you at this years Brubeck Festival in Stockton? I do hope so. Wishing you happy travels until we meet again. Love, Stephanie Stevenson
Darius, great gig last night at Pizza Express Dean St... what a wonderful young band you have! Very pleased to chat to you beforehand with Steve, and I'm sorry I had to dash off at the closing chord. All the best, Simon.
Hi Darius, it was lovely to meet all of you in Munich. Please say hi to Cathy, Dave and Iola. greetings Alfons
Great evening at the French Embassy guys!! Hope to catch you again in the UK in November. Best wishes for your trip to Dammam tomorrow
I like your music a lot, I heard on of your songs "Mamazala" from Radio Umhlobo Wenene (Jazz Session) and I was so impress as a result I woke up in the morning and phoned the music compiler of Umhlobo and he told me the name of the CD. I am now looking for Tugela Rail & other tracks and Before it's too late and I will be glad if I can hear more of your music.
I have always enjoyed the sounds coming from the Brubeck name - good to see the gift continues. Shelton
Hi Dari, Posting because I was thinking of old friends. We had such fun in 6th grade. Remember the play at Montclair Elem. when you were Huck Finn and I was Mary Poppins? I now run a big website, A to Z Home's Cool, and still play guitar and sing a little bit just for fun.
Life long fan of Dave Brubeck. want to know how to purchase dvd of Dec 3, 2010 TV broadcast

Hi Darius, Upon coming to Binghamton,NY in 1964 from Detroit Mich to work for IBM, I had the good fortune of seeing your dad and sons at a hall or church near downtown Binghamton on Main street, I believe, in the 70's sometime. Do you remember any of the details of the concert such as year, location, playlist, members, and comments? I also was able to see your dad and quartet in his latter 70's (1990's) at a Suny Binghamton packed concert. I just recently purchased a dvd of his 64 and 66 concerts in Belgium and Berlin which is awesome. Thanks and sincerely, Bill Bronner, Endwell, NY
I was trying to get in touch with Cathy. i knew her many years ago. she knew my brother Ron gertz. i would love to connect with her. Sincerely, Deena Gertz Goidel
I remember seeing the three generations of Brubeck in Detroit in the 1970's. I pulled out the pictures I took during the concert after watching the TMC special made with Clint Eastwood. What memories, I really got teary eyed after watching it. Your family gave me a lot of joy with the wonderful music they performed throughout the years.
Hi Darius, Cathy, Chris & Dan, that was a great concert at The Sage on the 30th, really enjoyed it, Dave O'Higgins was marvellous as well, hope to see you all again sometime, and a very Happy Birthday to Dave with many happy Returns, Neil
A truly great night at Ronnie Scotts, thank you so much for coming to the UK. Doug Potter
Still buzzing this morning after your excellent concert at The Anvil ,Basingstoke last night ..wow , we loved it. Was brought up on your Dad's music so what an absolute thrill to hear new and old live and have the Brubeck Experience so close to home , am blissed out. Thank You !!
We met at breadkfast Tuesday in Jury's Manchester. I heard your father at Blackhawk in Sept-Dec 1952.Your concert was super and trombone an added luxury.Hope Fairfield Hall, Croydon, was full. I have a vague memory of Blackhawk that when interval came Chico Hamilton played 'Tea for Two' arranged for drums!! Best wishes to you all, for Christmas and 2011.
Hi to you Darius and to your family, We had the great fortune to see you play at the Usher hall, Edinburgh on Nov. 21st. My wife and I are quite new to the world of the Brubecks (apart from the many classics from your father) and this was our first Jazz concert. Fantastic music and amazing musicianship made for a wonderful night and I can't imagine a better way to be introduced to Jazz. We can't wait to hear and possibly see more from all the Brubecks. Thank you. Neil and Nicole
Saw you guys at Manchester last night. Most enjoyable, with all concerned giving full value. My wife and I, soon after we first met, saw your Dad and Quartet at the Wigan (Yes, Wigan again!)Int JazzFest about seven years ago. It was the finest musical experience of our lives. Please tell your Dad that if you get the chance. And carry on the good work!
Saw you play at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester last night... absolutely amazing! good luck with the rest of the tour!
Hi there Darius and Cathy Hope that you are both well - I tried to email for Cathy's birthday and it was returned three times from your (old) ukzn address so I am trying this and your website to get a message through to you. Please will you let me know what your new email address is. Thank you. Love Pam
Greetings, Mr. Brubeck, It's been a while since you left Cluj. I am happy to see all these new gigs that you will have in November and December. It was a great pleasure learning with you and I realise what a once in a lifetime opportunity it was for us all. I've been composing and working with my quartet since you last heard us. You can check our most recent gig videos on youtube (serch Darabont Örs Quartet). Thanks again and wish you all the best! Darabont Örs Targu Mures, Romania
Hi Darius, The last time we met I was probably dropping off my brother David at your house on Newtown Turnpike (?) near Steve Pettit's house. I've been following Brubeck Jazz my entire life but not as avidly as my 94 year old father in law. (July 1st is his birthday) His love of jazz prompted me to thank you for your, and your family's, great gift to us all. By the way, you are always welcome at our home when you visit DC., although the scenery is not like we shared in Wilton and Redding. My best wishes, Bill Hack Ashburn, Va. 20147 703 858-9807
Hello Darius! I met you in London about 1967. I was with my sister. You struck up a conversation with us and introduced yourself. I am sorry we didn't have more time then. I liked you right away and would have enjoyed getting to know you. You have done wonderful things with your life! Best Always~
Hi Darius I like your website. It's about time that all your "memoirs" were put in one place. I've only just had a brief browse through and enjoy going back in time with you and your dad and your brilliant music. Good on you. God bless you and your own musical family, to bless us for the next 50 years. How is your dad? Hope growing old gud and gracefully and still enjoying the music. Blessings Julie
We are so blessed as musicians to never have a "sell by" date !! Kudos to you and many more years of wonderful music making. Tons of love, Mim XXXXXXXX
Enjoyed your performance with you and your brothers in honour of your father quite a bit. Thank you.
Hi Mr. Brubeck, Is it proper to congratulate a son on his father's Kennedy Center honors? I was so proud of the tribute that you, your brothers, the Dave Brubeck All-Star Jazz Quintet, and the U.S. Army Jazz Band paid to your father. His reaction to your presence was priceless! I'm a long-time fan of your father's work, as well as his humanity. Through him I follow the work of you and your brothers; I was fortunate enough to attend a Triple Play concert at my university a while back. I wanted to hear more of your piano on the Kennedy Center honors broadcast. You (and your brothers) sounded terrific. How wonderful to have grown up with the influences you did. I'm one of many, many fans of your father's who are active on a yahoo fans group (brubeck-list@yahoo.com), where we discuss his music, family, life, and living legacy. It's a very nice and engaged community of devotees from all over the world. I'm merely a fan, but your father is my living hero. I look forward to exploring YOUR music further, too. Best Wishes for a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2010. Dan Shelton Little Rock, Arkansas
I have a story about your father> I saw him at a small club in Ft.Laudrdale,Fl. in 1981 named Bubbha's. I was there with my then wife, she hated Jazz and I love Dave Brubeck. I paid ten dollars each for the first set and when your Dad said there would be a second set. My then wife stated I am leaving. I said goodbye to her gave her the car keys paid ten dollars for the best night of Jazz I had ever heard-move out the next week and I owe it all to your Father. Thanks him for me the next time you speak with him. The show at the Kennedy center was a Jazz lovers utopia.
Hi Darius, We have you seen you many times when you were in south africa and especially remember the concert at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown. Your dad is a favorite of mine, and has been for more than 45years. How blessed he must feel that he has so many talented sons. Regards, from South africa.
It was very nice presentation in The Chiddling Festival last Saturday. I made a comment in our music blog - What...Cat 8 Your Tongue. Thanks for the marvellous show. Marilena - (Laura Doe)
Darius, Just back to Turkey from London - An excellent show at Ronnie Scott's! Your rendition of Blue Rondo was superb. Please pass to Dan that I really enjoyed his sticks and especially his solo's! Thanks for the snapshot and autograph. Cliff - Ankara
Yesterday's show at Ronnie Scott's was simply great. Both overall and solo performances were amazing. I enjoyed every single moment. Many thanks for this delightful evening. Regards
Darius, just a short note to say how much I enjoyed your set at the Vortex last night. I picked up Tugela Rail which I am listening to now - it's great. Unfortunately, I cannot make the ronnie Scott's gig tonight but I will keep a look out for your future appearances in London. Thanks for last night and best wishes Alan
Darius: Greetings from a rainy Swedish island from your once Wilton neighbor. (We're talking the sixties, man.) These days, I live in NYC but spend summers in the old country. Hope your life is a good one. Best/Steve

Darius, Sunday was a very interesting session at Wavendon.I have just been listening to A Kind of Blue, recognising chord changes you explained to us, added a new dimension to my listening
It is the coolest site, keep so!
We saw the concert at UOP last night (4-3-09). We were initially disapointed not to be able to see your dad, but we were overwhelmingly pleased with the performance you gave on the Time Out album. Thanks for stepping in at the last minute for your dad. We have been fans of his for over 50 years, and have the original Time out album. You made our evening; thanks again. Phil & Sally
Hello I am a Saxophonist and a Jazz Pianist who lives in Bloomington Indiana. I think you and your band is really neat. I would very much appreciate it if you were to put your music on this website if at all possible.
Don't know if you'd remember me, but I did some recording in your living room with a friend Steve Harris. Perry joined us as did Matthew. It was back in 1979. I am still playing music...glad to see you and your brothers are too. Be well and peace. Jamie Kay
I MEET DARIUS BRUBECK IN MEXICO 1976 ! HE WAS TOURING WITH FATHER DAVE AND PAUL DESMOND.....GREAT CONCERTS !
Great stuff. Keep up the good work.
Hi Darius and Catherine: We met 20 years ago in Durban when you were teaching at the school in Natal province. I was a 'servas' traveller from the US, who arrived by sailboat from Australia. I was just tripping down memory lane and thougt I'd google your name and see what's going on. I have such fond memories of that time, crashing gigs and eating 'bunny chow's' on the beach. I also remember meeting up at the University of Cape Town and a great party after the show with Zim's friends. Anyway, lots of memories. I just wanted to say hello and wish you all the best. Regards, Paul Johnson
Great site and photos except for that sax player with the silly grin! Well done!!!
What a wonderful website, Darius! Congrats on getting it up and running....will visit again later. Happy Holidays to you and Cathy! MJ Papich Jazz Education Network
Hi Darius ... How's this for spooky? Although I will be seeing your concert at the Warwick Arts Centre on 17 November I couldn't help noticing that you're at Ronnie Scott's on 9 November. This is significant to me because on November 9, 1961 - exactly 50 years ago to the day - I was stationed in Germany and had the pleasure of seeing your Father's great Dave Brubeck Quartet in concert at the Gruga-Halle, Essen. I still have the ticket! Good luck on your UK tour and I shall look forward to next month with great anticipation!
